One Fiji Party President, Filimoni Vosarogo

One Fiji Party President, Filimoni Vosarogo said if his party manages to form a coalition government they will change the common name Fijian.

While speaking on our special general elections talkback, Straight Talk on our sister stations Viti FM and Radio Sargam last night Vosarogo said he believes in a common name and common national identity.

He said there has to be a common name for every citizen of this country regardless of race however the name Fijian belongs to the indigenous people.

When asked that former Fiji citizens overseas are called Fijians there and how come they cannot be called Fijians here, he said it is in different context.

Vosarogo also stressed that they will maintain the 15% rate of VAT in the country but will ensure that all normal household items are Vat free. However he did not specify which items.

He also said the Great Council of Chiefs should be brought back but in a reformed version.

Join us on our special general elections talkback, Straight Talk from 7 tonight on our sister stations, Viti FM and Radio Sargam.

Our guest on the show tonight is Fiji Labour Party Leader, Mahendra Chaudhry.

Join us tonight and you can also call and ask the Political Party Leaders and their representatives questions on issues that matter to you as we approach the September 17th general elections.

We will also have live video streaming of the talk backs on our website, fijivillage.com
