Fijian football star and Digicel Fiji National Football Team Captain Roy Krishna who is also the forward for Bengaluru FC, has officially joined Odisha FC, a renowned club in the Hero Indian Super League.

Speaking from his hometown in Labasa, Fiji, Krishna says joining Odisha FC is not just a personal decision, it's about being part of something bigger.

Krishna says the club's ambition to win titles and grow is evident, and he is thrilled to be a part of this journey and contribute to its ongoing success.

He further says he looks ahead to the coming season and is more determined than ever to continue his successful trajectory and contribute significantly to his team's achievements.

The football star says he is thrilled for the opportunity to work under the mentorship of newly appointed coach, Sergio Lobera and acknowledges Lobera's successful track record and numerous titles won in the ISL as he considers it an honor to be a part of his team and learn from his expertise.

Krishna says he admired Coach Sergio Lobera for a long time, and regrets not having the chance to join his team last year however, he now eagerly awaits the opportunity to work with him and the exceptional team which he has assembled and aims to achieve new heights and make a significant impact in the ISL.

Krishna's football journey in India includes serving as the captain for three years of ATK Mohun Bagan, now Mohun Bagan Super Giants and most recently as a forward for Bengaluru FC making a significant impact during his four seasons in India, making history as the first Fijian to play in the ISL and the prestigious AFC Cup.

He previously represented ATK Mohun Bagan in the AFC Cup for two consecutive years and this year Krishna is set to participate in the AFC Cup again, with Odisha FC earning qualification after the playoffs in May.

Throughout his journey in India, Krishna has consistently demonstrated his goal-scoring ability, his remarkable performance earned him the distinction of being the joint top goalscorer on two occasions and saw him clinch the coverted golden ball in the 2020/21 season.

The exciting move to Odisha FC will reunite Krishna with former teammates Amrinder Singh and Lenny Rodrigues, with whom he shared successes at ATK Mohun Bagan.

The 2023/24 Indian Super League season is set to kick off in October while Krishna will be heading to India soon to commence his preseason training with the club.
