The Swire Shipping Fijian Drua have announced a new broadcast model for the 2026–2028 Shop N Save Super Rugby Pacific seasons, introducing a hybrid structure spanning Free-to-Air, Pay TV, and Digital Streaming.

The move represents a strategic step towards a sustainable, independent future for the club while ensuring all fans can continue to enjoy high-quality rugby.

The new approach balances accessibility and financial sustainability.

Free-to-air coverage on television sets remains available for all fans nationwide, while low-cost digital streaming offers flexible access to live matches, on-demand replays, and extended highlights on the device of their choice (phones, tablets, PCs).

Payments will be simple through M-PAiSA, debit and credit cards, with pricing set at $2 per match.

The Fijian Drua’s hybrid model introduces a small payment for digital streaming helping the club build a stable revenue base, strengthening its competitiveness against larger Super Rugby Pacific clubs while investing in players and facilities.

Fijian Drua CEO, Mark Evans says the Drua remains committed to keeping rugby accessible to all, while providing an enhanced viewing experience and a more sustainable financial path forward for the club.

Evans says by pioneering this hybrid broadcast model, the Drua are showing that innovative, small-market approaches can set new benchmarks globally.

He says this is a model that other clubs around the world in small economies might consider.

An announcement on the Digital Streaming, Free-To-Air and Pay TV partnerships will be made in the coming days.
