FijiFirst leads with 156,490 votes as official results come in for 1706 of the 2071 polling stations

The FijiFirst Party continues to lead the official 2022 general elections results tally with 156,490 votes after the completion of the count at 1706 of the 2071 polling stations.

This is 41.97 percent of the votes counted.

The People’s Alliance is in second place with 134,829 votes which is 36.16 percent of the votes.

National Federation Party is in third place with 32,544 votes which is 8.73 percent of the votes counted.

SODELPA has 19,838 votes which is 5.32 percent of the votes counted.

Unity Fiji has 10,627 votes, Fiji Labour Party has 9,986 votes, We Unite Fiji has 5,271 votes, All People’s Party 2,264 votes and New Generation Party has 805 votes.

Independent candidates Rajendra Sharma and Ravinesh Reddy have 168 and 69 votes respectively.

A party can form government if they win 28 seats or more.

If no one reaches the 28 seats on their own, then we expect negotiations between parties to form a coalition government.

Parties that qualify to be in parliament need to receive 5 percent of the total votes in the elections.

Based on the current count and the percentage of votes received - the projected seats for the FijiFirst is 25, People’s Alliance 22, National Federation Party 5 and SODELPA 3. These projections will change as more votes come in from polling stations. Please note this is a projection based on the votes counted so far.
