The Fiji Airways Men’s National 7s team is through to the semifinals of the Singapore 7s after defeating New Zealand 24-19 in their quarterfinals today.
Fiji came from behind to beat the Commonwealth 7s champions with a last minute try to playmaker Amenoni Nasilasila.
The national side were trailing 10-12 at half time with unconverted tries to Josua Vakurinabili and Amenoni Nasilasila while Kurt Baker scored New Zealand’s tries in the first half.
New Zealand came back strongly with a try to Joe Ravouvou in the second half before Eroni Sau and Nasilasila sealed the win for Fiji.
South Africa defeated Kenya 24-12.

Fiji will now meet either South Africa in the semifinal at 8.50 tonight.
The final will be held at 12am tomorrow.
