Fiji to face Samoa in 5th place playoff after 8-wicket win over Philippines

Fiji will face Samoa in the 5th and 6th place play off of the ICC Women's T20 World Cup Qualifier at Albert Park.

Fiji beat the Philippines by 8 wickets in a low-scoring match today, chasing down the target of 69 runs.

Mele Waqanisau was named Player of the Match for Fiji after scoring an unbeaten 21 runs.

The Samoan side beat the Cook Islands by 62 runs.

Fiji takes on Samoa at 9.30am on Monday while Papua New Guinea will take on Vanuatu in the qualifier final at 1.30pm on Monday at Albert Park.

The winner on the competition will qualify for the ICC Women's T20 World Cup in England next year.
