Fiji to become the hub of sports in the Pacific is the key objective of the Fiji National Sports Policy which was passed last year during the parliament sitting.

Minister for Youth and Sports, Jese Saukuru highlighted this and stated that they are expecting a lot of better things to take place after the policy has been passed.

Saukuru says Fiji becoming the hub of sports in the Pacific will be a great lead for the industry in Fiji.

He says the ministry will need to plan strategies and how they can move forward in sports while utilising the policy, as it is a unification element for the country.

The Minister adds that the involvement of other organisations and bodies is vital for inclusivity in mainstream sports.
