The Fiji Airways Men’s 7s team has officially qualified for the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris despite finishing 9th at the Toulouse 7s.

After a dismal performance in the pool matches, losing 2 games and a tie, Fiji fell out of contention for the cup quarter finals but needed a 9th place finish claiming 8 points to confirm their ticket to Paris after Australia finished 5th claiming 13 points.

The race for the final spot is now open for Australia, South Africa, and Samoa with the 2022/2023 World 7s series wrapping up in London this weekend.

Meanwhile, the Fiji Airways Fijiana 7s team will now play in the qualification series to try and earn a spot in the Olympics next year after finishing 8th in Toulouse over the weekend.

The All Blacks 7s and Black Ferns 7s teams won the Toulouse 7s Men’s and Women’s competition respectively.
