Fiji 7s team won the Vancouver 7s after thumping Kenya 31-12 in the final

The Fiji Airways Men’s National 7s team won the Vancouver 7s after thumping Kenya 31-12 in the final earlier today and this has resulted in Fiji moving up to 2nd place on the World Rugby 7s Series table.

Fiji is the first team to win two tournaments this season as they ran away with five tries against the Kenyans.

Captain Jerry Tuwai led his side well with a courageous performance as they showed a different class with more combinations.

Tuwai says there is no X-factor in the team as everyone did their best.

Josua Vakurinabili scored Fiji’s first try while Sevuloni Mocenacagi leveled the score to 12-all with a try before the second half.

Kenya scored two tries in the first half.

The second half saw Fiji shifting the gear to another level with strong defence and they were also brutal in the break downs.

Their tries in the second half came from Mocenacagi, Alasio Naduva and Paula Dranisinukula.

Coach Gareth Baber believes the team responded well to their 3rd place finish last weekend.

The next tournament will be held in Hong Kong from April 6th to 8th.
