The Fiji men’s basketball team secured a commanding 123-61 victory over Vanuatu at the FIBA Melanesian Cup today.
Tyrone McLennan finished the game with a competition-high 44 points, including an impressive seven three-pointers.
Speaking during the post match interview, McLennan said the team played with a lot of energy, they came out really hot to start the game, and it was a lot of fun with the boys.
McLennan says their coach had given several players the green light to shoot in the last two games, where he made the most of the opportunity.
He says fellow teammate Josh Fox came close to a double-double, showcasing solid defence alongside McLennan's offensive firepower.
Looking ahead to their next challenge, McLennan says the team will use their rest day to prepare for the crucial do-or-die match against New Caledonia at 1.30pm this Friday.
