Fiji citizens who were vaccinated for COVID-19 overseas will be able to have their vaccination details recorded on the Fijian Vaccination Registry System however the timeline on when this will be done will be confirmed later.

Fijivillage asked the Health Ministry, Communications Ministry and the Ministry of Commerce, Trade, Tourism and Transport on how Fijians vaccinated overseas can get registered in Fiji's digital register to confirm that they are fully vaccinated. We have asked if there is a component within the VAX-Check tool to be able to do that as some business operators have been telling some of these people that they will only allow them in if they are registered in the VAX-Check.

Permanent Secretary for Health, Doctor James Fong has referred all questions to the Ministry of Communications and Ministry of Commerce as the Health Ministry is responsible for the people vaccinated here at home.

Acting Permanent Secretary for Communications, Tupou’tuah Baravilala confirms that Fijians who have been vaccinated overseas will be able to have their vaccination details recorded whereby their details will be available to be searched through the VAX-Check tool.

Baravilala says more details on this will be announced in due course.

The Ministry of Commerce is yet to comment.
