As the Pacific faces new and emerging challenges, the partnership with New Zealand remains crucial for our collective stability and prosperity.

The Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Finance, Professor Biman Prasad highlighted following his meeting with New Zealand Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Winston Peters and a delegation of senior ministers in Nadi to discuss key regional and economic priorities.

Professor Prasad highlighted the growing importance of Pacific-led cooperation and reaffirmed the commitment of both governments to work closely on shared priorities.

Deputy Prime Minister says the talks were open and constructive, noting that both countries share common goals for sustainable development and resilience in the Pacific.

He says they had valuable discussions on regional integration, labour mobility, and other development issues.

The Deputy Prime Minister acknowledged the recent visa policy change by New Zealand and he said this will provide easier travel access for Fijians and Pacific Islanders.
