Fiji and China have agreed to lift bilateral relations to a coalition featuring mutual respect and common development.

These were the words of the Chinese Ambassador to Fiji Qian Bo at the Chinese Spring Festival celebration held at the Suva Civic Centre.

Bo says in recent years under the care and guidance of the leaders of the two countries,  China and Fiji's relations have developed.

Bo says both countries have signed a number of operation agreements on the Belt and Road initiative, education, tourism and other initiatives opening a new chapter in the development of the bilateral relations.

He also thanked President Jioji Konrote who was present at the celebration for his care and support for Fiji ‑ China relations and the Chinese community in Fiji.

The celebration was marked with various performances from groups and individual performers from China.
