Fiji Water Foundation donates supplies valued at $20,000 to the Ministry for Health

The Fiji Water Foundation today donated a range of supplies valued at $20,000 to support the Ministry of Health’s efforts to stop a second wave of COVID-19 infections in the country.

Fiji Water Foundation Manager, Marie Smith says the donation includes supplies specifically requested by the Ministry of Health, including high visibility raincoats, examination couches, portable medical screens, warm blankets, umbrellas and gumboots.

Smith says they are glad to help source the supplies to assist their efforts in successfully eliminating COVID-19 in Fiji.

She says as the rainy season approaches, supplies such as gumboots and umbrellas will help make life for health workers more bearable, particularly in rural areas.

This latest donation follows a gift from the FIJI Water Foundation in April of bedding materials for the Health Ministry’s Community Isolation Facilities located around the country.

Minister for Health Dr. Ifereimi Waqainabete says all these supplies will make a big difference to the health professionals working on the frontline as they work hard to ensure Fiji remains free of the virus and also avoid a second wave of infections.

Dr Waqainabete says thanks to help like this from the FIJI Water Foundation, it will enable them not to let their guards down as they continue their work.
