The Digicel Fiji U23 football side is ready to face the Solomon Islands in today’s second semi final of the OFC Men’s Olympic Qualifiers in Auckland, New Zealand.

Despite having played one less game than their opponents, Coach Rob Sherman says the focus remains on their preparation ahead of this crunch encounter.

Sherman says the time between games is limited so ensuring players are fully recovered and preparing to play a new opponent is always a fine balancing act, however, he feels the team is in a decent space and ready for the game.

He says with their opponents having won three games in their group stage campaign, the team have been keeping an eye on the Solomon Islands with so much on the line.

The Fiji U23 team will take on Solomon Islands at 7pm tonight.

In the first semi final New Zealand will face Vanuatu at 3pm today.
