The Fiji national U19 women’s football team departed today for Tahiti to compete in the OFC U19 Women’s Championship, carrying high hopes of showcasing Fiji’s growing strength in women’s football.
Head coach Angeline Chua has named a balanced squad featuring rising talents from the U16 side as well as players who already have senior international experience.
Chua says they have assembled a strong group of players for this tournament.
She adds that balance is important because it gives the younger players role models on the field and ensures the team has the maturity needed to compete at this level.
The squad has been training intensively in recent weeks, with a focus on fitness, discipline, and tactical preparation.
Chua believes the mix of youth and experience will be vital against tough regional opposition.
The Future Kulas will open their campaign against the Cook Islands at 1pm on September 25th.
