Fiji National University’s Acting Vice-Chancellor Tessa Price says the construction of their $8.5 million state of the art gymnasium is near completion and the four-storey College of Business, Hospitality and Tourism is on track for completion.

Construction of both buildings began last year.

Price says equipment for the new gymnasium has been brought in and will be set up soon.

The new gymnasium will feature cardio training, rehabilitation, cross-fit and weightlifting, circular machine stations and indoor running for testing and fitness which will contribute towards Fiji’s fight against non-communicable diseases.

Price says the gym will also have an indoor basketball court that is configured to international standards for all major sports such as basketball, netball and volleyball.

Both buildings are located at the FNU Nasinu Campus in Valelevu.

Funding for the FNU gymnasium has been provided by the Fijian Government and FNU itself while the 4-storey building was allocated funds by FNU.
