The Fiji Institute of Chartered Accountants Annual Congress, which will be held at the Crowne Plaza Fiji Nadi Bay Resort and Spa, has been boosted by a $60,000 sponsorship from Vodafone Fiji and Asco Motors.

President of FICA, Wiliki Takiveikata says this year's Congress promises to be an exciting event with an impressive line-up of distinguished speakers, engaging topics and panel discussions.

Takiveikata says in the last three months, Fiji has witnessed the changes that are happening under the Donald Trump leadership in the United States of America, especially with the imposition of tariffs.

He says who knows what other changes are coming, therefore the theme for this year is "Shaping Fiji for tomorrow's challenges and opportunities".

The President says the speakers and panelists will give their insights on how we can deal with challenges and capitalise on the opportunities.

Takiveikata says Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Finance, Professor Biman Prasad and Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Trade, Manoa Kamikamica will be sharing the country’s road map for the future and the focus of investment in the country.

The President further says more than 400 people are expected at the Congress while registration will open in the coming weeks.

Chief Commercial Officer for Vodafone Fiji, Salman Khan says this Congress will create a platform for the exchange of ideas with meaningful discussions.

Khan says they have been supporting the FICA for the past two decades.

He says this platform will allow us to navigate the rising costs and technological changes.

Meanwhile, Asco’s General Manager Corporate Service and Company Secretary, Jitesh Prasad says the Congress will bring transformative changes.

The Congress will be held on the 6th and 7th of June.
