Fiji Football Association CEO Mohammed Yusuf says soccer players will be tested for methamphetamine and cocaine for the first time during the 2020 Punjas Battle of the Giants tournament which begins today.

Yusuf says about 5 players per team will be tested in each match adding that the tests conducted this time will be of a higher quality than the previous years.

He says its a costly affair but Fiji FA wants to clean up this area.

Yusuf says they are going to make results available to Police as well.

He says if a player is a second offender or a frequent offender, he will be suspended for three years while a first time offender will receive a three months suspension.

Yusuf says that the Fijian Military officers will be present at the grounds during the BOG tournament to ensure there is adherence to all COVID-19 related restrictions.
