The Fiji Football Association is calling on government to continue paying the salaries of expatriate coaches and technical staff.

Fiji FA’s CEO, Mohammed Yusuf says that is the only forward to grow sports.

Yusuf adds they have also made submissions on the 2021/2022 National Budget for the Government to increase the tax rebate to 200 percent for those businesses who are providing sports sponsorship.

Currently, a sponsor which donates to a Fiji National Sports Commission recognised entity receives a 150% tax deduction, with no threshold.

Minister for Economy, Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum will deliver the 2021/2022 National Budget address at 7.30pm Friday.
