Members of the public turned up in numbers this morning to be part of the Fiji Day march from the Suva Flea Market to Albert Park.
Among those attending was 8-year-old Bulou Mereoni Talei Grace Tubelili Veitaukitoga from Lami, who stood out in the crowd.
Veitaukitoga expresses that, for her, Fiji Day means happiness, highlighting the joyful spirit among participants.
She shares a heartfelt message to everyone: believe in God.
For Salote Nasau and her family, who travelled from Nakelo in Tailevu, the Fiji Day celebration is something they do not want to miss.
Speaking to fijivillage News, Nasau says she is excited about today’s celebration as she believes that her children should know everything about their motherland.
She says this is part of their history, as she always brings her children to the celebration.
She adds that this is a new start for the country, and we should move forward.
The Fiji Day march was led by the Fiji Police Force Band, with Fiji Corrections Band, and the National Youth Band.
