The Vodafone Fiji Bati’s preparations for the Rugby League World Cup has been met with some hurdles after some of their key players were injured during the NRL season.

Coach Jo Rabele says some of these players are Kane Evans, Tariq Sims, Jacob and Daniel Saifiti, and Marcelo Montoya.

He says the NRL clubs have advised them that these players will be out for months.

Rabele says they are thankful they have players available to replace the injured players for the World Cup in England, such as Pio Seci, Malia Lave, and Taniela Sadrugu.

The coach confirms that those players that will be playing in the Preliminary Finals this week, will join the team in England on the 7th of next month.

The Bati will play a warm-up match against England on the 7th of next month in preparation for their first World Cup game against Australia on the 15th of October.
