Fiji Airports has delivered a major victory for Fiji on the global stage, winning the Best Finance Team Award at the 5th Global CFO and Finance Transformation Conference and Awards 2025 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

The award recognises the organisation’s leadership in financial governance, innovation, and transformation across the aviation sector in the Asia Pacific region.

Chief Executive, Mesake Nawari says the finance team has demonstrated exceptional commitment, resilience, and innovation through challenging periods, including the COVID pandemic and the subsequent recovery phase.

He says this achievement reflects the team’s dedication to financial excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement.

He adds that their leadership has strengthened the organisation and set new benchmarks for aviation financial management.

Nawari says the award is a win for both Fiji Airports and Fiji as a nation, as it highlights the organisation’s commitment to building strong financial systems that support national economic development, operational excellence, and world-class airspace and airport services.

He says this recognition brings strategic benefits to Fiji Airports by reinforcing confidence among partners, investors, employees, and stakeholders as the organisation advances billion-dollar capital projects under its master plan.

He adds that it also enhances the organisation’s international profile, supports talent attraction, and validates the finance team’s central role in driving resilience and sustainable growth.

Corporate World Intelligence Head of Asia Pacific Projects, Chessy Patricia says the achievement is a testament to Fiji Airports’ professionalism and excellence in financial management.

She says the success reflects the high standards the organisation upholds and the positive influence it brings to the wider aviation sector.

Patricia adds that the award recognises the team’s ability to deliver exceptional results through innovation, resilience, and strong financial leadership.

The annual conference is a leading platform that honours excellence in financial leadership across diverse and high-impact industries.

Fiji Airports, the only airport operator among the finalists, competed against top-performing organisations including rail operators, investment firms, financial institutions, insurance providers, and national infrastructure custodians.

The award positions the organisation as a role model for others pursuing financial transformation and operational excellence.
