The Fiji Airways Men’s National 7s side is not expected to get an easy run against Spain in the cup quarters of the Cape Town 7's tonight.

Spain is currently just behind Fiji as far as most points scored is concerned in Cape Town and the European side has also left behind teams like South Africa, New Zealand, Australia and England.

USA has scored 123 points in the Cape Town 7's so far, Fiji has scored 109 points while Spain has scored 104 points.

These are the top three teams so far as far as most points scored is concerned.

Looking at Spain’s performance so far, they outclassed Argentina 35-12, hammered Japan 52-0 and lost to USA 38-17.

Meanwhile, a Fiji-South Africa clash in the semis of the Cape Town 7's looks imminent.

South Africa and Fiji are featuring in the first two Cup Quarter-finals where they will face Scotland and Spain respectively.

The winners of these two quarters will then clash in the semis and barring any upsets, Fiji will play South Africa in the first semi.

Fiji edged England 21-19 in their last pool match this morning.

Fiji earlier defeated Kenya 38-7 while they thrashed France 50-0.

Fiji’s overall defence has improved however discipline is still an issue where Fiji got two yellow cards in the pool matches.

Meli Derenalagi was flashed a yellow card in the match against Kenya for a deliberate knock on while Vilimoni Botitu was yellow carded against England for a deliberate knock on.

The first cup quarterfinal will be between South Africa and Scotland at 11.04 tonight, Fiji will face Spain at 11.26pm in the second quarter-final, Australia will then take on New Zealand at 11.48pm while USA will take on England at 12.10am tomorrow.

The Cup Semifinals will start at 3.34am tomorrow and the Cup Final will be played at 6.44am tomorrow.
