The Digicel Fiji 7s team arrived in the country early this morning.
The players were greeted by family, friends and fans at the Nadi International Airport.
Vice captain Benito Masilevu said they were surprised to see a number of people waiting for them this morning.
Masilevu said they have learnt a lot from coach Ben Ryan during their first tournament together.
The side arrived without Ryan as he had earlier stated that he would return to England to sort out certain matters before moving to Fiji with his wife.
Meanwhile Digicel Fiji presented a bonus payment of $15,263 to the team this morning.
Digicel Fiji's Public Relations and Sponsorship Manager, Satish Narain congratulated the team and said that the performance of the team was above expectations and winning the plate title was a proud achievement.
He presented the bonus to the team at Nadi International Airport and said that despite not being able to defend their Gold Coast title, the Digicel Fiji 7s team showed tremendous improvement in taking out the plate title.
He also acknowledged the job done by the new Digicel Fiji 7s coach, Ben Ryan and the team management in preparing the team well.
