Fifty new teams to feature in the 2021 Marist 7s

Fifty new teams will be participating in the 45th Fiji Bitter Marist 7s that will be held at the ANZ Stadium next week.

This includes thirty-two men's teams, four women's teams and fourteen Under 21 teams.

Marist 7s organisers say some teams from cyclone stricken areas have confirmed their participation including Moala Vonkula from Lau, Kavala Bay Babas from Kadavu, Savusavu women's rugby team, Infinity and Black Herons from Bua in the U21 competition.

Other new teams include Ba River team which will be mentored by former Fiji 7s rep Pio Tuwai and Life After Rugby team that is made up of former and current national 7s reps.

Tabadamu are the defending Marist 7s champion where they defeated Police White 22-14 in the final.

The 45th Fiji Bitter Marist 7s will be held from next Thursday to Saturday at the ANZ Stadium while the third leg of the Fiji Rugby Super 7s Series will be held on Friday and Saturday this week at Ganilau Park in Savusavu.
