7-year-old Chirag Murti, who cannot speak has been reported missing since last Friday at the Taveuni Police Station.

Police confirm an extensive search is being conducted and headed by the Station Officer at Taveuni Police Station and members of the community.

Chirag’s father, Shyam Murti says his son was last seen playing with his twin brother and an older brother at their home in Qila, Taveuni.

Murti says his son was wearing a red t-shirt and blue shorts.

He is pleading with the members of the public to help him search for his son.

The father says when he left home at 9am Friday to go to town, his children were playing outside.

Murti says he received a call at about 3.20pm from his wife who asked if the children were with him.

He says he told his wife the children were not with him and was told that his son is missing.

Murti says he immediately told his wife to file a report with the Police and adds that more than 60 people including members of the public and police are engaged in looking for his son.

If you have information that could locate 7-year-old Chirag Murti then please call the Taveuni Police Station on 888 0222.
