Fans enter ANZ Stadium to witness first major sporting event after 6 months

Over 1,000 fans witnessed the first major sporting event at the ANZ Stadium after six months this afternoon when Suva played Ba in the Digicel Premier League match.

We also saw officials turning away a fan as he did not have his vaccination card.

People were lining up before 2pm to enter the stadium as officials were checking their temperature, vaccination status and they also had to check-in using the careFIJI app.

Mere Vuda says she traveled from Lautoka to watch this match.


Lautoka soccer Vice President, Narayan Reddy says he also travelled from Lautoka to support Ba today.



Caubati resident, Ashmit Prasad says he is happy to see that soccer has resumed and he is excited to be back at the stadium.

We also spoke to Asaf Khan who says he is excited to watch the match with his parents, wife and children.

Varun Swarup who is originally from Lautoka and resides in Koronivia says he is excited to watch his team, Ba play after 6 months.
