Thousands arrive at ANZ Stadium to support Fijian Drua

Thousands of people are already inside the ANZ Stadium while many are still lining up at the gates for the historic Super Rugby Pacific match between Swire Shipping Fijian Drua and the Highlanders.

Jeremaia Mataika has come with his wife and children to watch the game.

He says they have been excited all week for this match.

Another Fijian Drua fan, Jonetani Yabaki came from Navua this morning.

He says he only decided to buy his ticket yesterday because he wanted to watch his favourite Drua player Onisi Ratave.

Among all the Drua supporters lining up at the ANZ Stadium were three passionate Highlanders supporters.

They are the cousins of Highlanders winger Jona Nareki who is in New Zealand recovering from injury.

Nareki bought tickets for his cousins.

Another Drua fan Anaseini Adiqisa says she also felt the hype and decided to buy tickets and Drua merchandise.

A family from Beqa Island has also arrived to cheer for the Drua.

They say they will be cheering for their favourite player, Vinaya Habosi.

The family is hoping the players will perform their best and give the people a win this afternoon.

Shailendra Prasad Gosai who is also at the ground says his favourite player is Meli Derenalagi and he has followed him since his 7s debut.

He says Derenalagi is a genius.

The Fijian Drua face the Highlanders at 4.35pm this afternoon.
