Speaking to fijivillage News, homeowner Rafaele Rupeni says he was not at home when the fire broke out, and he received a call at 5.30pm from his nephew.
He explained that his nephew had been burning debris near a sugarcane field while cleaning up outside, and after going to a nearby shop, he returned to find that the house was on fire.
