A Nadi based non governmental organisation, Voice of Needy Foundation will be providing 709 sanitary kits to families in the Nawaka lockdown area tomorrow.

Founder and President, Mainaz Nazrin Ali says they came up with the idea to provide sanitary items to families in Nawaka after reading a post that women and girls are using old socks, newspapers, towels and rags as sanitary pads.

Ali says they have also received 40 requests for baby items from needy mothers and they have got donations from the staff of HFC Bank in Nadi and items will be distributed tomorrow.

Ali who is a teacher and also lives in the lockdown area in Nawaka says it is heartbreaking to see the suffering of fellow Fijians.

Voice of Needy Foundation was formed in May last year and according to Ali they have provided more than 500 food packs with the support of many donors within Fiji and also overseas.

She says they have also received 50 food packs from Sai Prema Foundation and Asco Foundation and they provided these packs to families in the interior parts of Nadi.

You can contact Ali on 7303013 if you want to assist Voice of Needy Foundation in their work to provide necessities to those that are facing major difficulties.
