The Fiji Women’s Crisis Centre had worked with the Health Ministry during COVID lockdowns to remove survivors of domestic violence from the perpetrators' homes.

This was highlighted by the FWCC Counsellor Supervisor Shobna Devi during a joint event of the FWCC and Fijian Women Lawyers Association event last night.

Devi says domestic violence survivors were trapped in the house and were not able to move due to the lockdowns.

She further says they had called the FWCC for assistance and they contacted Police and the Health Ministry for assistance and this was not an easy task as during COVID, resources were stretched out.

Devi also says the FWCC also provided shelter for the survivors.
