Fiji Roads Authority focus’s on the infrastructure of the Tamavua I Wai Bridge, Vunikura, and Korolevu upgrades.
A workshop was held at Pasifika Communities University with senior Fiji Roads Authority staff from all three divisions with the course of reviewing financial performance, align strategic priorities, and enhance planning for the fiscal year 2026.
The FRA says that reviewed budgets and spending trends from the year 2023 to last year and from last year to to this year, they have discussed lessons learned and areas for improvement.
They add that the project and maintenance plan updates will provide routine, periodic maintenance, and renewals for roads, bridges, and jetties.
FRA says they have seen a new capital program for community resilience, tourism, congestion relief, and addressing Capital Project.
They have seen challenges with procurement delays, capacity gaps, and weather impacts and they have proposed solutions to improve budget execution and project delivery.
FRA acknowledges donor-funded on major projects under the Transport Infrastructure Investment Sector Project (TIISP) and with their support for the National Rugby test match on Flying Fijians against Scotland.
FRA expressed that the role of transport infrastructure is to unite communities and foster national pride.
