The Fiji Roads Authority has mobilised contractors who have been working overnight to restore road access to all affected areas in the Western Division.

FRA confirms that Kings Road is open to traffic, but road users are advised to remain vigilant at all times.

They say their Western Team will finalise a report after conducting their survey today and will try to restore safe access for those who have been affected by the weather over the weekend.

FRA has also confirmed that some parts of Western Viti Levu, particularly Ba, are open to traffic and these roads include Vutuni 3rd Crossing, Khalsa Vatuyaka Road, Kings Road at Matawalu, Koroqaqa Road, Rarawai Bridge and Namosau Bridge.

Votua Road, Marinitawa Road, Toge Road, Nacaci Crossing, Cemetery Road at Varadoli, Babriban Road, Vatawai Crossing, Navala Road, Koroboya Road, Elevuka Road, Koronubu Road and Koronubu Flats in Ba are closed while Koula Road can only be accessed by 4x4 vehicles.

They are also advising Fijians in the Western Division that more rain is expected to affect the country.

The Fiji National Disaster Management Office is also advising members of the public residing in low-lying and flood-prone areas in the West to be on high alert and remain vigilant.
