The Fiji National University and Toppan Ecquaria signed a partnership to help the development of technology in driving sustainable digital growth for young students.
Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Trade Manoa Kamikamica says the goal for the 2025–2035 National Digital Strategy is to increase the present 4.2 GDP contribution from the Information Technology ICT industry to 10 percent.
He adds the development is over 40,000 jobs in a variety of industries and attracts an investment of more than US$100 million.
Kamikamica shares that he is happy to report that they have already exceeded that amount.
TOPPAN Ecquari Managing Director Chong Ser Wah says now the challenge of the digitization process can be overcome in all aspects of the ecosystem.
Wah ensures this change in digital government advancement will not only enhance citizen convenience but elevate the trust of the citizens in the government.
He adds that young FNU students will benefit from this training and be equipped with the skills and expertise necessary to fully leverage the technology and drive sustainable digital growth.
He also says young FNU students will gain a lot from this training and be prepared with the knowledge and abilities needed to make the most of the technology and promote long-term digital development.
FNU's Acting Vice-Chancellor, Professor Nii-K Plange, says the significance of this partnership is in line with FNU's mission to produce graduates who are capable of promoting sustainable development and becoming academically strong.
He adds through the integration of the KAIZEN Digital Platform, Fijian students will be able to gain hands-on experience in digital transformation that will enable people to actively participate in Fiji's digital economy and aid in creating a more effective public service system.
