FICAC has to be reviewed and it will be part of the policing structure – PM

It will be part of the proposed constitution amendment

Prime Minister, Sitiveni Rabuka says FICAC will have to be within the Police just like separate sections looking at certain issues.

Rabuka made these comments when fijivillage News questioned him on what is the government’s plans for FICAC, knowing he had said before the 2022 general elections that it was used to intimidate political opponents and needed to be reviewed.

The Prime Minister says Section 115 of the 2013 Constitution talks about FICAC so any change to FICAC will have to be considered as a constitution amendment.

When asked whether the coalition government will continue with FICAC in it’s current form, Rabuka confirms this will change after the amendment is made.
