FEO registers 11,008 new voters, with 93 people applying for a name change

93 people have so far made an application with the Fijian Elections Office to have their name changed.

During their visit to the Golden Age Home in Samabula today, Supervisor of Elections Mohammed Saneem says the 93 people who have applied for a name change include 71 women and 22 men.

Saneem says as at yesterday, they have registered 11,008 new voters and 67,751 people have upgraded their voter cards.

He has also revealed that 118 businesses in Suva and 79 businesses in the Western Division have so far registered with the Elections Office for a registration drive.

He adds to date they have served 7,036 people under the business house drive.

Saneem also says they have received 725 requests for mobile registrations and they have actioned 207 of those requests.
