Supervisor of Elections Mohammed Saneem has announced that they have postponed the school registration drive to 18th April however schools in maritime areas will be covered in the current Voter Registration Drive.

Saneem says should there be availability of boats and resources during the school registration drive now scheduled for 18th April, they will attempt to reach those schools in the maritime areas once again.

He says they have postponed the registration for all schools except maritime areas because Years 12 and 13 have finished and these students are no longer coming to school.

We have asked Saneem why the FEO will be visiting maritime schools in the current registration exercise if the Year 12 and 13 students are not coming to school. He is yet to respond.

Saneem also says they will now visit the 222 schools that were scheduled during the nationwide registration campaign from 18th April.

He says this will be done for a period of 4 weeks.

Saneem adds for students that have finished Year 13 this year and will be going to universities, the Elections Office will be making arrangements to be present there.
