The Fijian Elections Office final handover of the 2022 general elections results which was scheduled for 2pm today has been rescheduled to 4pm.

The FEO says it is in the process of quality assurance of the results as well as allowing time for parties to peruse the results so that if they have any issues, they can raise the same with the FEO.

This was first scheduled for 11am today and then moved to 2pm, and now moved again to 4pm.

The FEO says they anticipate that this schedule is not going to change for today.

Supervisor of Elections, Mohammed Saneem had said the count was completed yesterday and some recounts were being done last night.

We are trying to establish why there has been a delay based on the count finishing yesterday and what is the actual cause of the delay.

We are also in the process of contacting the Elections Commission Chairman, Mukesh Nand to get the commission's explanation on this.
