Extra opens $6m shopping complex which provides jobs to around 142 people.

Extra Supermarket has opened its new $6 million shopping complex in Laucala Beach today which will provide employment to around 142 people in the area.

This is the third Extra outlet in the country with the other two in Lautoka and Flagstaff.

The supermarket consists of a wide range of products, a coffee shop, artisan bakery, a deli and a walk in liquor store.

Operations Manager Ravinesh Deo says they believe customer satisfaction is the most important thing and that is what they had in mind when designing the supermarket.

Deo says the team has put in a lot of effort and they hope customers love to shop in the supermarket.

He adds the opening was delayed by almost a year because of the COVID-19 outbreak earlier this year.

He says they will be looking to expand in other areas in the future but this depends on the locations and the right time.

Sangram Singh of Newtown, Nasinu says the standard at the supermarket was similar to what they experienced overseas.

Another customer says it was a wonderful experience for her and she is happy with the prices as well.
