The external exam dates for Years 12 and 13 students will remain the same.

This has been confirmed by the Minister for Education Premila Kumar who had earlier stated that exams for Year 13 will be held from 1st to 11th February 2022 and the results are expected to be released on 17th March while the exam for Year 12 will be from the 7th to 17th of February and results are expected to be out on the 6th of April.

Kumar says they need to feed results not only to the universities but to the Tertiary Scholarships and Loans Services so that they can start identifying the student who will be given the loan and scholarship facility.

She says the exam dates that they have now is very critical and they want to provide the results to the students so that they can progress to tertiary institutions.

When questioned on how the ministry will handle a situation where students test positive or are primary contacts and need to be isolated during their exams, Kumar says they have compassionate passes for these students.
