It was a night filled with dances, songs and other entertainment as hundreds of devotees gathered at the Sanatan Shiv Mandir Hall in Rewa Street last night to participate in the National Diwali Night Celebrations.
While speaking as the Chief Guest Ashok Balgovind told the people that everybody irrespective of race or religion enjoys Diwali.
Balgovind told the people at the celebrations that unity comes from the heart and encouraged them to help those people who are struggling or are in trouble.
He also urged the people to teach their children the Hindi language and teach them the knowledge of religion.
There were traditional dances and singing by different groups from the Central Division followed by food and sweets.
Diwali will be celebrated on Tuesday.
