FRCS CEO, Mark Dixon

The Fiji Revenue and Customs Service want policies that make it easier for people to be tax compliant.

FRCS CEO, Mark Dixon says every tax administration in the world has some tax evasion happening and their job is to make it as small as possible.

Dixon also says the key thing about their Compliance Improvement Strategy is that they do not create policies and strategies that treat everybody as non compliant.

He adds they also have some powerful tools at their disposal for those people who are deliberately evading tax.

FRCS Manager Risk Assessment and Financial Intelligence, Rohitesh Dass also adds they have started a VAT gap analysis exercise and once that is completed they will know how much of a VAT gap there is in the economy.
