Everready Taxi and Tours is now the first taxi company in the country that has ANZ Bank EFTPOS machines in their taxis.

This means people will be able to use their debit or credit cards to pay their taxi fare.

Everready Taxi and Tours has 29 taxis.

ANZ Fiji Country Head, Saud Minam says every driver goes through a training session where they learn about the processes to follow when a card is declined or whether there is a dispute.

He says they would love to have other taxi companies on board but they are a financial institution and there are requirements which those companies would have to meet.

Speaking at the launch of the ANZ Point of Sale initiative, Attorney General and Minister for Economy Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum says he is grateful that ANZ has made it easy for people to pay for any amount.
