The Nailawa crossing in Tailevu is now fully accessible after quick action by the Fiji Roads Authority who completed restoration works this afternoon.

FRA deployed a team with a digger today to reconstruct the crossing, which had been damaged by heavy rain and rising water levels yesterday.

They say the rapid restoration was necessary to ensure that residents living along the route were not further inconvenienced and could regain safe access as soon as possible.

Minister for Public Works, Ro Filipe Tuisawau says he has also instructed the FRA to look at the road from Queen Victoria School to Dawasamu.

Ro Filipe adds that it is also necessary to improve the road leading to the Kings Road.
