Encourage family meetings - Radrodro

With the third term of the 2024 school year starting tomorrow, the Education Ministry is calling on parents and guardians to conduct regular family meetings with their children as there has been an increase in drugs and social ills surrounding our children.

Education Minister Aseri Radrodro says with the increase in drugs and social ills surrounding our children, parents and guardians are urged to stay vigilant at all times.

He says parents and guardians are encouraged to conduct regular family meetings to discuss and highlight to their children the importance of attending school and staying away from social ills.

Radrodro also says that parents and guardians must ensure that children are well prepared with all the necessities such as redeeming school bus fare cards and other necessary logistical support.

He says children should be monitored on their daily attendance, and parents must advise the class teacher and the school administration staff if their child is unwell and unable to attend classes.

The Ministry says in reference to Circular No.99/2024 issued to Divisional, District Officers and Head of Schools must adhere to the instructions clearly provided by the Ministry for the Term 3 School re-opening requirements.

The safety and security of students and teachers remain important; ensuring the environment is conducive to learning for students to excel and grow academically and socially.

Term Three will commence tomorrow and end on December 6th, 2024.
