Ed Sheeran can do no wrong as the 27‑year‑old hitmaker has now utterly smashed the record for the most money made on tour in a single year.

Ed Sheeran brought in an impressive $918m in the last 12 months, which works out at just under $2.4m a day.

He just beat best friend Taylor Swift whose Reputation stadium tour saw her bring in $592m in the past 12 months; the concert will hit Netflix on 31 December.

Rounding out the top 10 were Beyonce and Jay Z, who earned $487m after going on tour together for the first time in 2018, Pink, Bruno Mars, and rock bands The Rolling Stones and U2.

U2 hold the record for the previous highest grossing tour for a calendar year, as in 2017 their Joshua Tree tour earned Bono and co $606 million.

The Shape of You singer reportedly earned a staggering $87m in 2017 which is said to make him the richest solo pop star in the world surpassing Adele, Madonna and Beyonce.
