When customers are ready to pay back the interest and the principle, it means they are making money and have enough to operate their business and pay back the bank.

This has been highlighted by Fiji Development Bank CEO, Saud Minam who says based on the numbers he is seeing, the economy is moving in the right direction.

He says we are seeing an uptake of tourists coming back and a lot of these people who used to come to Fiji for work purposes are coming back as well.

While responding to questions by fijivillage on the impact the upcoming general elections could have on investor confidence, Minam says confidence is there, and coming out of COVID after 2 years, everybody is looking for an opportunity to do something.

Minam adds election or no election, some of these policies do not change.
