Energy Fiji Limited Chief Executive Officer Hasmukh Patel says they will be releasing a plan this evening which will have information on when power will be restored in areas affected at the moment.

We will inform you of that power restoration plan as soon as we get it. Stay with us for that.

Patel says the plan is very tentative and they will try and stick to it as much as possible.

But Patel says as they go out to the various areas to restore power supply and if they see that the damages are more than what they have expected, then obviously it can take a longer time to repair the system and restore power supply.

He says on a daily basis, if there is a change in their restoration program they will make sure people have access to it and see when power is likely to be restored in their area.

He says people also have to understand that it may take a little longer to restore power supply because of the lockdown in Suva and COVID-19 restrictions such as physical distancing.

Patel says they have teams outside the lockdown area. This means it is a smaller team and it will take time to restore power.

He says of course they prepare for natural disasters but people have to understand that there will always be some damage.
