EFL says it may take 4 weeks for power supply to be fully restored in all Divisions

If you are living in areas that still do not have electricity, you can expect power supply to be restored from the end of the week through to the next four weeks.

Energy Fiji Limited CEO Hasmukh Patel says some areas are still flooded while some roads have been washed away and it has made it difficult for them to access these areas.

He says they will first restore power for essential services such as hospitals, medical centres, water pumping stations and water treatment plants before restoring power in residential areas.

The CEO adds if their team feels that the service line or the service/intermediary pole is defective, the line will be isolated and people will need to find a registered electrical contractor to carry out the repairs.

Only 5% of areas in Nausori and Tavua have power supply while 10% of areas in Ba and Savusavu have electricity.

90% of areas in Suva now have power supply.

20% of the areas in Sigatoka, 8% in Ovalau and 97% of the areas in Taveuni have power supply.

There is currently no power in Pacific Harbour, Navua, Korovou, Rakiraki, Nadarivatu and Labasa.
